A friend of mine Rosie (fashion student, gorgeous photographer and connoisseur of adorable things) wrote a beautiful little article on 50's fashion today in her blog Her Name Is Cupcake complete with vintage pictures of her could be 50's starlet grandmother.
This absolutely made me want to dress up, roll my hair and sit and pout somewhere reading Lolita (1955).
50's clothing is classy, quirky and beautifully flattering on most people.
I think the best way to top off Rosie's outfit suggestions would be to secretly be wearing gorgeous 50's style lingerie underneath! What Katie Did do vintage style lingerie that is to die for. Kiss Me Deadly and Urban Outfitters also do some could be vintage lingerie. 50's chic complete with a sexy "accidental" flash of suspenders as you reach for a book off a high self or casually adjust the folds of your dress while sitting in a tea shop. Do not be too surprised if a young male waiter or shop assistant rushes to your side to see if you need assistance!
